Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Subscription Model

MyTaxWriteOffs offers a free tier and a paid Pro plan billed on a monthly or annual basis. All billing is processed securely through Stripe, Inc. Subscription fees are charged in advance at the start of each billing period.

2. Cancellation

You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at support@mytaxwriteoffs.com.

  • Monthly plans: Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing month. You retain access to Pro features through that date.
  • Annual plans: Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current annual billing period. You retain access to Pro features through that date.

We do not charge cancellation fees. Downgrading to the free tier is always free.

3. Refunds

All subscription fees are non-refundable except in the following circumstances:

  • Billing errors: If you were charged incorrectly (duplicate charge, wrong amount, or charge after cancellation), we will issue a full refund of the erroneous amount within 5–10 business days.
  • Service outage: If the Service experiences a verified outage of more than 72 consecutive hours in a billing period, you may request a prorated credit for the affected days.
  • Required by law: Where applicable law (including EU/UK consumer protection regulations) entitles you to a refund, we will honor that right.
  • Our discretion: We may issue refunds on a case-by-case basis at our sole discretion. To request a discretionary refund, contact us within 7 days of the charge at support@mytaxwriteoffs.com.

4. Free Trial

If a free trial is offered, you will not be charged during the trial period. You may cancel before the trial ends to avoid any charge. If you do not cancel, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan at the standard rate.

5. Chargebacks

If you initiate a chargeback with your bank or credit card company before contacting us to resolve a billing issue, we reserve the right to suspend your account pending resolution. We encourage you to contact us first — most billing issues can be resolved quickly.

6. Account Termination by Us

If we terminate your account due to a violation of our Terms of Service, you will not be entitled to a refund for any remaining subscription period. If we terminate your account for reasons unrelated to a policy violation, we will provide a prorated refund for any unused portion of a prepaid annual subscription.

7. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund or report a billing error, email us at support@mytaxwriteoffs.com with the subject line "Refund Request" and include:

  • Your account email address
  • The charge date and amount
  • The reason for your request

We will respond within 2 business days.
